Induction?

Can you voluntarily get induced after 37 weeks or does that only happen if you or baby are at risk?

Answer

Considering full term doesn’t start til 39w, and 37-38w is early term, I’d question why...?
I’m 38w today. I totally get it. Pregnancy is super rough! But early term babies are more likely to have lung issues, cognitive issues, and are more at risk of developing complications than babies born between 39-41w.
I was born at 38w exactly. I had bad childhood asthma and have had chronic bronchitis my whole life.

I have an elective induction at 39+0. That’s the earliest the hospital allows for elective inductions where I am at.

Depends on your doctor. 
Mine allows it at 38 I believe they said but they start at 37 if medically necessary (I.e. High blood pressure, diabetes, etc...)

I’m being induced at 37 but it’s only due to my uterus not healing as well as they wished with my first two pregnancies.. but usually it’s 38/39 weeks
