How many clothes?

We just had our shower and received some 0-3 and 3-6 month clothes. Trying to figure out how much we need so I can go but the rest of what we need. Sleepers, onesies, pants - how many should I have if each for 0-3 months?

Depends on your kid. My first literally never spit up or had diaper blowouts. He was the cleanest baby so we needed one outfit and one sleeper a day. He was also hot all the time so we never layered a onesie under a sleeper like older generations will suggest on repeat. Sometimes he would wear the sleeper two nights in a row. We would have been 100% fine with 5 onesies, 2 pairs of pants and 2 sleepers. We had two Velcro swaddles we alternated. Some babies are messy and have bodily fluid all over 5+ outfits a day. There’s no way to anticipate what kind of kid you’ll have. You can always pick up more after birth if needed. And if you don’t have it, get Amazon prime. You’ll have the extras you need at your door within 2 days. You won’t even have to leave the house. Best prices I could find for diapers and wipes too!

We never used the white onesies. Not even one, so don’t waste your money. We only used sleepers at night, so depending on how often you want to do laundry, I think we had 5 or 6 and we would use each one for 2 nights in a row unless she had a blow out. We always put clothes on our kids, everyday, so if you feel like that would be you, I suggest getting at least 10 shirts and 5 bottoms. My kids were in 0-3 months and 3-6 month for 4 months each, so we had more than that because I didn’t want to put them in the same outfits over and over for 4 months. We didn’t use bibs, but used the muslin blankets a lot. For laying them on the couch, swaddling, wiping their mouth, and we used them for putting over their legs in the car seat.

This is our second and we had WAY too much 0-3 & 3-6 month clothes. That’s such a short amount of time and they basically live in comfy clothes and white onesies. Don’t go overboard. I would say each size have 10 white onesies, 10 sleepers (with zippers... buttons suck), a few nicer going out outfits, a couple cute ones for fun, socks, two halo sleep sacks, and a couple hats. Now add a couple more to each if you aren’t a fan of doing laundry much.

I have just bought a few of each items in two sizes as I dont know if my boy will be small or large at birth. I think around 5-6 onesies, 3 pants and I cant remember the rest of the clothes. I wouldnt stress about it. The shops are still open after birth if you need more! 😊
