Breast pumps? Elvie.

Question

So I REALLY want an Elvie breast pump as I feel it would be super convenient for work. However my aunt is a lactation consultant and said while it’s a fine pump it’ll never compare to the efficiency of a Medela. Anyone have any experience with the elvie they’d like to share???

I was able to get the Elvie discounted through my insurance for $350 and paid with my HSA funds, completely nothing out of pocket. I have yet to try it because I’m still 25 weeks but I have an active 4 year daughter so it’d be impossible for me to sit in one spot for 45 mins to pump next to an outlet. I’ve watched tons of YouTube reviews on it, and although it’s mixed, the pros out weighted the cons for me and my household.

I work with a girl who paid out of pocket for hers and got the spectra with her insurance, she only uses the spectra. She said she never felt empty with the other no matter how much adjusting she did, so she would end up pumping after with her spectra.

I’ve heard that with some of the “wireless” pumps. That actually made me go with the spectra. As nice as hands free is, I exclusively pumped w baby 1 and power really is something that u can’t make up for.
