My 9yo daughter just informed me that she is getting hair "down there". So I know that day is coming when she is to get her first period. I have tried to have a sit down with her to have " the talk" multiple times but she just gets annoyed or something and doesnt want to hear it.

Also she may be 9 but her mind is more set to a 7yo plus to top it off she has ADHD and some other stuff going on that the drs havent or wont diagnose.

I need help in finding ways to explain to her what is going on with her body that she will actually pay attention and listen.

Can any one give me suggestions

***UPDATE*****

I did the sit down with her again and she still didnt want to listen, so I took her with me to my sisters when i dropped her 2/3 kids to her. I told my sister what was going on and asked for help since my daughter listens to her more than me most days.

Took all of 10min for my sister to get her to listen and understand what's happening to her body and what she sis going through.

When we got home she went straight to the bathroom grabbed the pads I had bought for her and said " mom please show me" so I did and I think we are good to go for now.
