How did everyone bring this topic on up with their significant others? Just simply “hey. What do you think of period sex?”

I straight up asked my bf is he wants to try period sex, and his reaction was just hilarious. It was a no, by the way... haha

I just always would say I’m on my period and he’d start stuff anyways lol actually it was only when I was first starting or on the tail end... If I was in the worst of it I’d just say hey let’s go get in the shower lol

It can be a bit weird to bring up but it's best to just get it out the way 
My ex didn't mind hell we even had a towel just for that occasion 😂😂
My partner now will only do it on my period when its light enough he dosnt likes having blood everywhere 😂

My partner brought it up to me. He was like “why do you always say you’re on your period as the same as saying no sex, we can have sex on your period”. It opened up a whole conversation about the first time I got blood on a guy and how he reacted. It was a really good conversation to have because now I don’t have to worry if I’m still spotting etc. I know how my partner will react. 
You could just start with the end of your cycle... tell him you’re feeling frisky but that there still might be a bit of spotting and what that means and see how he feels about just that to start.
