How many rounds of IUI or timed intercourse did your RE try with you before you moved on to IVF?

I got straight to IVF

If you pay out of pocket just go for ivf,especially if hard pressed for time due to age or possible issues with sperm with the next batch of natural production. IUI has just a bit higher chance to conveive than normal conveption.

MFI, we did 2 and then he asked if wanted to go straight to IVF and we said YES. If we had been able to, I would have gone straight to IVF from the start.

2 rounds of IUI that failed. Start stims this month for IVF. Honestly wish i wouldve just went straight to IVF. IUI was a big let down — too much false hope for something that may only have a 10-15% chance of working.

I did 2 rounds of timed intercourse and miscarried the second round. Then two rounds of IUI and miscarried the first round. Decided after that just to suck it up and proceed to IVF. The cost was a huge barrier or I might’ve tried earlier. So far I’ve paid about $25,000 for a retrieval and FET but am 7 weeks pregnant today. Hope she sticks and it’ll all have been worth it.

We did 6. We were only going to do 3 but then the 3rd resulted in early MC so we thought "okay this might work for us lets keep trying"... 3 more rounds and nope. IVF it is!

My doctor recommended max 4 IUIs. If it was up to us we would go straight to IVF, but insurance requires 6 TI or IUI before they will cover IVF.
