Baby fell off the bed!! What should I watch for?!

99% sure I’m taking her to the hospital, she seems fine but I’ve been reading horror stories online. She’s 7 weeks tomorrow. I’m a SECOND time mom this shouldn’t be happening I feel like such a shitty mother, this didn’t happen ever with my first. I was sleeping with her in our bed she was on my chest after eating and we always fall asleep like this. Next thing I know I felt a bit lighter and heard her crying from on the floor 😭😭 she was easily comforted, and went back to sleep which also scares me a little bit.

I heard that you don’t have to keep them awake, but I would have maybe 10 minutes to make sure her eyes were normal. But if she’s not throwing up, bleeding, shaking, or crying and if her head doesn’t feel swollen, she should be fine.
You’re not a bad mother, maybe just from now on sleep in the middle of the bed and put a bunch of blankets and pillows on the floor as a precaution. I always sleep with pillows and blankets on the floor next to the bed. My oldest fell off before when he was crawling and he woke in the middle of the night and he didn’t feel a thing cause they were there.

If it were me I'd go see the pediatrician. They can make sure she is responding normally and if something is off advise you to go to the hospital.

I just wanted to say I’m so sorry and don’t blame yourself! My first rolled over for the first time when I’d left him propped up on the couch and ran to the other room for something, I was devastated hearing him cry. I should’ve known better. Accidents happen. Hugs to you both!

Don’t beat yourself over it! My first  has fallen off the bed and couch, and my friends baby fell off the couch at 4 days old

I feel for you! This happened to me a few weeks ago and I felt awful, too. Thankfully I was sleeping in a low-to-the-floor bed and it was on carpet. He was consoled pretty quickly, but that cry when he landed was absolutely heartbreaking! Hugs, momma, it’ll be ok!

Look out for vomiting, unusual sleepiness, inconsolable crying, big lumps/bumps on the head, unusual looking pupils. But definitely at least call the doctor.

The same thing happened to mep with my first daughter. She was probably 7 months old. The doctor said that if they didn't lose consciousness when they hit then they are most likely fine. That being said, I think better safe than sorry. I would go in just to be sure.
