My 2 year old daughter is still like this but unfortunately, I cant cater to her 24/7 so sometimes she has to cry. I have my living room blocked off from the rest of the house and its child proofed so that's where she stays. And when I leave, she will cry... for about 5-10 minutes then goes about her business. She JUST FINALLY started really sleeping through the night about 3 months ago when I brought her brand new baby brother home, she had no choice. I cant get her and a newborn so trial by fire it was. Do I sometimes feel horrible for being only one person and needing some time to myself, not being able to get her whe she cries, her 3.5 year old sister at the time as well as my 3 month old? Yes. Buuuuutttt... only for a minute because I am doing the best I can. And so are you. Let her cry. Night time is a bit different, its dark, scary, everything looks unfamiliar. Hell, even as an adult I get scared. Give it time.

Try to stay calm... my son went through this when I was trying to stop breastfeeding when he was past two years old. I really just had to let him grow out of it. It’s very hard but this to shall pass. As mentioned before they music or other sensory objects.

I’ve got 4 kids an 2 of them were this way, I used to put music on and find distractions like fairy lights of baby tv just so I could get ready. Music worked a lot. My youngest has a chromosome deletion an music really calms her. They’re ok to cry while you get ready, sit her beside you while you’re getting sorted. Put her in a washing basket while you fold clothes with toys. Keep her close and reassure her you ain’t going no where, she will soon grow out of it 😌 hope this helps a little.
