Leaving baby for overnight at 5 mos?

Hi all! My husband and I have a wedding to attend out of town in February (baby will be almost 5.5 mos) and thought this *might* be a good time for some much needed us time. We’d be gone Wednesday AM and coming back Friday afternoon. I’m planning on leaving my sweet baby girl with my mom who she LOVES, and my mom will take great care of her but I’m still nervous and of course it’s not the same as me 🥰. She’s EBF so my freezer is stocked. She also goes to daycare so she is used to not seeing me for 6 plus hours a day, but she’s always ready for mama time by EOD and we nurse for bedtime so that has me concerned. Has anyone else left their baby at this age for an overnight or 2? If you have, any tips you can share? If you haven’t, let me know too - any reasons?

She will be fine!! Your mom will take great care of her. It’s so normal to worry and stress a little but TRY to enjoy the time alone with your husband 💜 she is a DOLL by the way 😍

I left my LO only with my husband overnight for a girl’s weekend.  When she is sleeping through the night I’ll feel more comfortable leaving her with relatives

Hubby and I are talking about a similar out of town adventure and I feel you (in April). My mom is wonderful with my daughter...but I’m already coming up with reasons not to leave her. 
Time as a couple is super important and I’m sure you’ll be happy that you have the time with him. I think the first time away is going to be really tough no matter when we do it. Good luck, momma. You got this

My mom watched my first overnight for 2-3 nights in a row starting at 8 weeks while I transitioned back to work. I was working 3 days in the office, two from home. Daycare didn’t have room for him until 12 weeks so we had to make do. They lived an hour away one way so it made sense for them to just keep him overnight. I just sent enough pumped milk to get them through until when I would see him again. He has such an amazing bond with my parents and brother and I believe it has to do with him staying at their house when he was young. My September baby hasn’t been away from me overnight yet since I’m now a SAHM, but we are planning a vacation for April when she will be watched overnight by family for the first time.

My baby has slept at my parents 3 times now & he’s 3.5 months old! As long as they have all supplies and you trust them... go for it! They’ll be fine. ☺️

I would let my mum take care of my daughter overnight at this age. She’s the only one I trust that can do everything, I would miss my daughter soo much though! I’ve been away from her for 5 hours once and I was so keen to get home and see her 😂 but might be worth it for you to have some nice away time!

I’ll add that I’m down to bring baby with, but husband wants a little alone time (aka I’m really hoping I do NOT get pregnant yet Lol)
