Have to pee but physically can’t 😬

Am

Hi there! Posting about this here in case anyone else has gone through this! I’m 16+2 and had a really traumatizing experience yesterday - I drank a ton of water when I got into work and had to pee really bad, but when I went to the bathroom to go nothing would come out (at most a few drops would come out). This has happened a few times from 14 weeks on, but I’ve been able to press on my belly in a couple of spots and it’s allowed me to pee.

Note: I have a retroverted uterus, so when this happened in the past I googled it and saw that others have experienced this too. The uterus is still tilted back and is pressing on the urethra so you physically can’t pee.

Called me doctor, they gave me some tips like lean forward, bring knees to chest when trying to pee (let me tell you how awkward that one is when you have a public shared bathroom at work), go home and take a warm bath to try and relax your muscles. The last resort was to go to the hospital and get a catheter out in. I was in so much pain - didn’t pee from 8:45 am until 1 pm, had back pain, hurt to walk. I read on one forum to sit cross legged on the toilet when trying to pee and that worked!

Anyway, it may just be a personal problem, but in case you’ve gone through this, at least you aren’t alone 😂/😭
