How do you clean pee out of a shaggy rug?

Yes...pee. I asked my husband to empty and clean out the potty training potty. He did. By rinsing it with water and then letting the pee/water combination drip all over our shaggy area rug. Idk how to clean it. Spray it with vinegar?

Oh jeez. I’d love to know that myself. 
I guess I would take a rug outside. Shake it. Vacuum it with the shnozzle do dad. Then spray that thing down with a hose with some Dawn dish detergent and throw a little vinegar on it for good measure. 
But I hate pee smell... so that’s Probly a bit extreme for some. I clean all my small rugs like that and it’s always worked. 🤷🏻‍♀️ 
Hopefully it’s a small rug... if it’s too big to do that, I guess spraying vinegar would be best.

You can use baking soda to help eliminate the odor. Just sprinkle baking soda (with some essential oils mixed in for smell if you like) then vacuum the powder up and it will help pull out the scent.

You can use vinegar, and a touch of essential oils if there’s a smell. If I were you I’d just use some Lysol and call it a day- I don’t really care too much about cleaning supplies chemicals. We also have a small spot cleaner for carpets and rugs. You could use the soap meant for cleaning up pet accidents. That’s what we plan on doing.
