Almost a year (pics)
It's been almost a year since I lost my son. He was my Halloween baby, born 10/31/2017 at 359am. My husband was deployed to Japan when he was born, so missed his birth. He also missed his first birthday, and was still in Japan when our son had the accident that claimed his life. My husband saw him for a total of 26 days of his 14 months of life, and 10 of those were when he was in the hospital on life support. You see, he was being watched by my MIL and FIL while I was at work. My MIL went into the garage and FIL went into the backyard, leaving my son alone in the living room. He found a toy his older brother had brought down at some point and stuck it in his mouth. It blocked his airway. Once my in-laws found him, they decided to drive the 10 minutes to the hospital instead of calling 911. This happened on January 10, 2019. He passed away January 21, 2019 at 1130pm. My husband and I decided to donate his organs. He helped a little boy see his parents for the first time in 7 years, and his kidneys went to a little girl who was on the transplant wait list for 3 years. It brought us a little bit of comfort to know that our son was able to make an impact in their lives, even if it caused us incredible pain at the same time. It hurts everyday, and the past holidays have been the worst, but we are hopeful for brighter days, and hopefully another baby.
RIP Jaiden Alistair Rodriguez. Mommy, Daddy, and big brother love you with all our hearts.
