Let me start by saying that after my 33 hour labour ordeal with my firstborn, I was really praying for an easier labour this time.

I had been having severe pain for weeks (nerve pain in ribcage) and had been offered an induction twice, which I had declined. I tried natural ways to induce (sex, nipple stimulation, walking, 2 membrane sweeps...) but he wouldn't come. So I took the third induction offer at 39+5 weeks, as I simply had no strength to keep going.

First induction failed, so the next morning they tried a different method. Within 2 hours I started having contractions. After a quick checkup and as soon as my husband had arrived, I was transferred to a beautiful room. For the next 3 hours I laboured holding on to bars, bouncing on a birthing ball and -best of all- in the birthing pool, while listening to classical music on my phone.

Then the contractions became too intense and I had diarrhea and was vomiting, so obviously I had to stay out of the birthing pool.

Not going to lie, I started begging the midwife and my hubby for help at some point, was crying because the pain was so bad. But, they were both awesome, motivated me and I kept going.

The midwife put me on the bed to check me and baby's heartrate one more time. Then everything happened quickly. Two doctors and two more midwives rushed in... fetal distress they said. Dr. broke my water and took some blood from the baby to check oxygen levels. It was very quiet in the room and I was later told that they were about to take me away for an emergency c-section. However, oxygen levels came back good and I was fully dilated, so they let me push. I did that on all fours... SOOOO much better than lying on my back like with my first. About 10 pushes later he was here, weighing a whopping 4044g. I now know what the ring of fire is lol, didn't have it with my first.

Total duration 5 hours, no tearing.

I feel so incredibly blessed and happy!!!
