Hi all. My 23 mo old daughter has been having really high fevers. She has no flu or cold symptoms other than fatigue and fever. She has a really good vocabulary and can tell us what things hurt but she doesnt seem to have a lot of pain. We went to urgent care, and they said the fevers were probably due to something viral but she had the beginning of an ear infection so they gave us amoxicillin. We have been alternating tylenol and motrin every 3 hours to help control the fever but the fever still is getting worse and not going down much. Its 7 45, she had tylenol at 3 50 and motrin at 6 50 and she has a fever of 102 still. That worries me, in the past when shes been sick we just had to do motrin every 6 hours and the fever would maybe come back after the 6 hours before the new dose. Is this normal?? Should I take her to the ER? Is it okay that the fever is still continuing with the medicine? Thanks in advance. I'm a young mom and am still learning how to best tackle this stuff!
