Open relationship experiences?

What are your experiences with open relationships and what do’s and do not’s are best for making things work?

I’ve never been comfortable with trying it, but I have done extensive research on the subject out of open-minded curiosity. Basically if you’re AT ALL insecure about seeing your significant other with another person then I would highly advise not trying it.

I just dont believe in it. I think it's just a way of keeping someone safe around for when you get lonely. 
Eventually someone gets hurt.

I fully believe they don’t work and eventually you will break up. Only do it if you don’t care about losing this relationship....
