I will be getting induced on the 9th with my second baby. My stepson was 8 when I had my first and he was there the whole time (almost 24 hours) I didn’t feel comfortable the whole time while he watched me go through my contractions, he constantly complained of being bored, and kept wanting his dads attention to play video games on his phone, there was no where for him to sleep since we had to check in at midnight so he slept on the one couch that was there and my husband slept in a small chair. This time around I’ve already told my husband that both my stepson and our daughter should stay with family like my mother in law or one of their aunts and then they can come meet their baby sister when she is here. My stepson keeps asking his dad if he’s going to be able to be in the hospital with us again and I tell him that him and his sister will probably go with their grandma but my husband interjects and tells him yea he can be in the room. I’m just frustrated because I’ve told my husband that I need his attention and support while I labor this time because I didn’t feel like he was present enough when I had our first because he was to busy entertaining his son. Just needed to rant a little.
