Why is my hair turning colors?...

Okay so a few months ago I died my hair red. My hair is natural black but over the past few years it’s lightened a little bit. But recently I tried to dye my hair back to its natural color but it faded out over two or 3 weeks. Now my hair is a brown/reddish color. Kinda ugly but I don’t know what I should do lol. My hair isn’t dead btw.

The products you can buy for yourself don’t have the same power as salon products typically do and tend to change color fast. I would recommend going to a professional stylist and having them take the color out and tone it. There’s also shampoos that are for stripping color but I think it’s best to go to a salon to minimize damage

Your hair is processed, no longer natural. It's not going to behave like virgin hair. When you initially colored it, you would have had it lightened then colored. The dye on top of your lightened hair is fading

From my experience red dye is hardest to fully remove from hair. You can either wait till it grows out (which will be a while) or strip it I think!
