How did you ladies do it?

I’m a ftm and I just had my sweet boy 6 days ago and today my husband went back to work and it’s really a struggle. How did you ladies get past it? I really just want to cry and have a couple of times..I need some advice or tips on how to get through this..

I would sleep whenever he would during the day and about 3 hours before my husband would get home id stay awake and speed clean. Then when he got home I’d go to the supermarket, cook and wash dishes while he watched the baby.

Take some deep breaths mama. This isn't just a first for you,  it's a first for your little one! Do some self care when baby naps,  weather it be a bath,  or just taking a nap, do whatever makes you feel calm. The first few weeks are the hardest. They need to be fed most, and attended to most at this time. You'll be okay,  it's not always going to be like this! Lots of love!

just remember time will heal everything! it gets better! enjoy the moments when they’re small, bc it won’t be that long until they’re up and on their own. i was so overwhelmed when my baby was a newborn i wanted her to be grown already. now she’s 7 months and yes the sleep is good but i wish i cherished the days she was small. enjoy your baby, sleep when baby sleeps, take deep breaths and take breaks and leave baby in crib or basinet when you feel too overwhelmed.

it gets easier as you go! it takes time to figure out baby’s routine. i was in your shoes almost 3 months ago and it does get better! i’d suggest sleeping at every possible chance that you get. i didn’t do that at first and i was absolutely exhausted! eat when you can as well. don’t worry about the little things like the dishes piling up or the laundry. call a close family member or friend and ask for help! the help is amazing from other people. also, for household chores i learned to do things “cut up” instead of all at once. my LO wakes up at exactly 7:30 every morning so we feed and play and while she’s playing i’ll brush my teeth and take my vitamins. i’ll get her all snug in her swing and then i’ll throw the dirty bottles and dishes in the dishwasher and her and i will nap a little bit. then i’ll do some picking up after her second feed and do other chores while i can! at first it’s hard to establish a routine because baby is new to the world! just do things when you can but always take time out for yourself.
