Symbolism of the Rosca de Reyes:

In my family’s tradition…

Every year January 6th we celebrate “Dia De Los Reyes” (Three King’s Day)

The circular form of the rosca bread represents God’s eternal love which has no beginning or end.

The sugar and fruit on top represent worldly distractions that keep us from finding Jesus.

“The small hidden babies inside the bread” represents the Baby Jesus who was visited by the Three Kings and hidden away from King Herod.

I had preordered our wreath of bread without any babies inside since I was going to make a pregnancy announcement and I would be the only one with the baby 🤰💕😭
