Choking hazards- do you let your 3 year old have things like raisins, nuts, popcorns, gummies or m&ms?

We are probably considered to be the overprotective type of parents, because I get a lot of crazy looks when I tell my son he can’t have certain foods because of it being a choking hazard. I’m just wondering if we should start to loosen up a bit, now that he’s 3. I’ve read that some of these can be choking hazards for children under 5 though.
