How’s your babe sleeping at night?

Our little guy isn’t sleeping through the night and lately he’s been waking for 1-3 hour spans where he just yells for no reason (no gas, constipation, pain etc). He has no sleep associations and can put himself to sleep on his own (goes in his crib awake for bed) but he just won’t sleep through the night. 
Starting on Monday I transitioned from two naps a day to one to see if maybe that helps?! Idk desperate.

I’m so glad you wrote this. My daughter is doing the exact same thing ! She used to be a brilliant sleeper but at the moment she screams if I leave the room and like yours, will wake at the night for 1-3 hours. We are exhausted ! 
I read somewhere that some babies can go through a sleep regression at 12 months old so possibly it’s that as well ?

I was going to suggest trying to drop a nap because it sounds like he’s not getting tired enough. My son usually takes two naps, but lately he’s been fighting that last nap. On the days he gets a second nap in he tends to take a lot longer to fall asleep at night. Thankfully once he is asleep he stays asleep but I’m thinking he’s ready for only one nap.

Do not drop a nap! Babies are not developmentally ready for one nap until at least 18 months! I fin my son wakes up WAY too early or throughout the night if there is not a big enough gap between his second nap and bedtime. We do 2-3-4 naps. So wake at 6-6:30am. We are awake for 2 hours. Then we take a nap. Whatever time he wakes up, the next nap begins 3 hours later. Then whatever time he wakes up from the second nap, there is 4 hours until bed time. So if you start backwards from their desired bedtime that should set your schedule. This is ours.
6am - wake up/breakfast/play
8am - 1st nap (usually 1.5-2 hrs)
10am - snack then we play have lunch and play more
1pm - 2nd nap (1.5-2hrs)
3pm - snack, play, dinner around 5ish
6:30pm - start bedtime routine (bath, lotion, jammies, story time)
7pm - bedtime. 
Some days are better than others but on days when he gets his second nap late and there is only a 2 or 3 hours gap between bedtime he sleeps terribly. The only other times he doesn't sleep well is if its too hot or he is cutting a tooth.

He started sleeping through the night at 2 months or atleast for 6hours straight, but after around 9 months he started waking up every 2 hours again. He loves to stay on the boob
