So I just found out that I am a different blood group from what I have known my entire life.  really upset, confused and kinda grateful because if I had filled my ante natal forms and placed the wrong blood group they who knows what might have happened in the future

You're upset and confused? Why exactly....you had the information wrong, now you know correct information. Move on. Why is this something to be upset over?

I believe they'd test it anyway in the event of a transfusion or something. I thought you were going to be upset because it would defy your known paternity (eg your blood type couldn't have been possible with your parents blood type thus your father isn't really your father type of thing). But for medical purposes, they don't just take your word for it when getting something major done like a transfusion.
