I had c sec one yr ago , let’s just say I am traumatized . Is a second one just as bad ?

My second was a breeze in comparison to my first. My recovery time was a lot shorter and easier too.

What was traumatizing about it? Was it planned beforehand or done in an emergency? 
The reason I ask is because my mother had two c-sections. The first was with me and she was in labor for 17 hours before they had to do an emergency c-section. And I know she said that was hard on her. 
The second was with my sister, 19 months later. She said that one was much easier because it was planned before hand and she didn't have to struggle through labor and have it be an emergency.

You may want to see if you can find a dr who will do a vbac. My 3rd baby was a c section and I was approved for a vbac with just 21 months between babies, but unfortunately I got preeclampsia so I ended up in another c section. The surgery was the same. My recovery was longer in duration but less intense. I even made it up the stairs when I got home, after my first c section I could barely walk through the house.
