Expecting my 2nd baby

My son will be 1 next month and I’m 11 weeks pregnant. I’ve been breastfeeding him since he was born. The dr suggested i wean him off ASAP! Is this true??? And what are ur suggestions on how i can wean him off. He drinks milk but still fights me to get the boob and pulls my shirt down. Thanks in advance.
