Apple cider vinegar cleanse: dilute it or take it straight?

After reading up on the benefits of acv, making it a part of my 2020 routine seems like a no brainer. I took a shot this morning and tried avoiding my teeth, but it felt like being punched in the throat. Sucked going down, felt like I had thrown up.

I did some searching and there’s a lot saying that it’s safer to dilute it, but there’s ALSO a lot saying diluting it basically nullifies the benefits. Has anyone regularly taken a shot before breakfast, and have there been any negative side affects with it? Will I eventually get used to it?
