Am i being ridiculous?

I have told family and friends that want to see my newborn in February within the first 2 months that they need the flu vaccine and tdap. My niece was hospitalized the first 2 months of her life with whooping cough and I don’t want that with my child. Just not sure if I’m being way too crazy.

You aren’t being ridiculous. We did the same thing and our baby was born in July. Now, the flu vaccine wasn’t really relevant at the time.

I did the same🤷🏼‍♀️ as a nurse I’ve seen too many kids sick with the flu or pertussis.

Not crazy at all. We did the same thing. Baby was due in December but arrived in November. You do what you need to in order to keep your baby safe. Best of luck!

Same. And that’s why my in-laws have yet to see their first granddaughter who was born in October 🤷🏼‍♀️ they won’t give in and I won’t budge on the subject.

I did this with the tdap. I didn't make a big deal out of it if they didn't but they also didn't see our son until he was vaccinated. I will be doing it for this baby also.
