I am a lonely 19 year old girl. I broke up with my ex 2 months ago. He was a bit abusive but not to bad. I miss being in a relationship. I have had some guys come on to me but mostly guys that only want sex or flings. Where can I find a good, sweet, loving man?

Why are you lonely!! Your 19 and in your prime time go have fun with friends book a trip go on a road trip. Live a little having a bf isn’t everything trust me. You’ll meet someone when it’s the right time don’t jump into love you won’t find what your looking for. Don’t mean to sound like a mom but I’ve been there done that. I wish I would’ve did more around that age instead of worry about boys.

Sweetie I’m 41 and just now finding decent men. I let loneliness and desperation be the reason that I settled for less than I deserved. Nothing but abusive or cheaters that used and abused me. I tolerated so much bs because they knew I didn’t want to be alone and used it to their advantage to get away with murder. You are 19. Focus on yourself. Bettering yourself. Pampering yourself. Loving yourself. Life is what you make it, if you aren’t happy, you change what you can and what you can’t change, you learn to love, accept and embrace yourself flaws and all. Work on yourself inside and out. Do everything that you’ve always wanted to do. Travel. Work on your bucket list now, not when you are 60 after the kids or are out of the house or your husband died like my cousin. 3rd husband might I add. The biggest thing that you have to remember is that a man doesn’t complete you or define you, nor does the number on a scale or the size of your pants. You complete and define yourself flaws and all. Fall in love with yourself. Date yourself. It’s ok to be alone and heal and work on yourself. Men will come and go. Sadly there is more crap out there than decent men. Guys that tell you what you want to hear to get what they want, string you along, giving you false hope but with zero intention of a future with you. I wish I could do life over again and not worry about guys and have focused on school and gotten better grades over worrying about guys and being popular. Not burned out at 22 when you started drinking at 12 and ended up with an abusive gang member that beat the crap out of me. I always put myself in horrible situations because I let loneliness be the reason. I thought something is better than nothing. But boy was I wrong. Don’t repeat my mistakes. Live your life better. Spare yourself the heartache, the miscarriages, the years of neglect and abuse and enjoy life. Men take longer to grow up. My current guy is 46 and comes with kids. But we are taking it slow since October. Love yourself. Maybe a pet or babysit, they will comfort you in the meantime so you don’t feel so alone. Keep your head up, things will get better.

My husband found me when I stopped focusing on needing a man. I know it sounds cliche but it's true. I focused on myself, took a few college courses and worked my way up in my job. And about 2 months later we met. Married 7 months later and tomorrow is our 5 year anniversary. Love will find you when you least expect it.
