I mean can we kind of agree Trump isn't like any other president we have had? I am much more likely to compare and contrast Bush and Obama than Trump and anyone else in history.. his following feels a bit cultish. Hate crimes are up 220% since he took office. He definitely is more extreme right than I would view a moderate republican president..

Politics on both sides have gotten so nasty. It is absolutely disgusting that people (president and others in elected office included) are throwing so much hate around. That is no way to behave.

We naturally have an us versus them mentality - we put our selves into groups, and "the other" we at best ignore and at worst fight (verbally or physically). It's not limited to political factions - punk versus pop, STEM versus Humanities & Arts, doctors versus nurses, adults versus children, x skin color versus y skin color, immigrant (to any degree) versus native (subjective), etc.it gives us a reason to find and be "safe" with like-minded/similar physical aspects individuals. A place to "belong" if you will. Sometimes it's helpful (think AA meetings, group therapy sessions, fandoms, rediscovering heritage, etc.), but a lot of the time it's a detriment. Not everyone is going to have cancer, but those of us that don't should be able to make an effort to make sure that those that do are taken care of.

The president was never intended to be chosen by the popular vote, the electoral college does it's job. I would have a bigger issue with people being required to vote by their party lines instead of whoever they want to, and the fact that of the 250 million ish people who are old enough to vote, only about half or so actually do.
Though I do agree that not all people can be civil in discussions that involve politics and I usually try to avoid them because it becomes a shit show.

I believe in facts. The fact of the matter is that the people have no say in what decisions the government makes unless we overthrow it. The media portrays what they want you to see/hear which is mostly negative or non factual. Also, there's a rant room where you can rant if you are tired of this or that and people will comment nearly the same. I can agree I'm tired of the governement, politics and the media. It's all horseshit.

Politics are just too touchy. Somehow someone mentions the president like really? 
If you talk about trump, his supporters get all butthurt. If you talk about Obama same thing happens. No president was ever perfect in history. 
God forbid though you talk about the laws and government or other issues going on in America. People resort to telling people to leave instead of actually talking about the important issues America faces. 😒😒😒 yeah lovely 👍👌
