Tragus keeps swelling

Hi guys, I had my tragus pierced two and a half months ago and it's been a pretty moody piercing - my ear is still swollen after all this time, it doesn't hurt or anything, but I keep getting the bumps around the piercing. First I had one in the front (went away after I applied antibiotic cream), and now I have one on the inside of my ear. I had my jewelry downsized, but now I think the bar is too short and that maybe that's what caused the bump (the one on the inside appeared after I downsized it).

I really want to get more piercings done but I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or is my body just overly sensitive, cause if that's the case, I don't wanna go through all this again 😞

Anyway, my question is has anyone had any similar experience? I don't know if I should get a longer bar or get a hoop (my piercer suggested it last time I saw her) - has anyone had a hoop on a fresh tragus?
