Is it safe to hide condoms under a mattress?

Hey I’m new to the sex world and recently I bought condoms to protect myself. My parents are very against sex, however I have been with my boyfriend for 2 years and I am preparing myself to practice safe sex. I don’t know anywhere else to hide them except under my mattress and I was wondering if that’s a bad idea? Will they get ruined or is it a safe place? Thanks for all the help ladies!

Cut out the center of a book, or put them taped behind a picture hanging on the wall, etc less obvious places.

I can’t think of why it wouldn’t be safe. Just read the information on the packaging about safe storage and determine your hiding place from there. Just remember safe sex is more then just protection from pregnancy and sexually transmitted disease. It’s also about protecting your mental health.  Sex especially the first time (first ever or first with a new partner) can be an emotional minefield so be very careful in your decision about person and timing.

It depends. If your box spring is older and has pieces sticking out it, it could be bad because it could put holes on the condoms. If you’re going to hide them there, make sure you really inspect the packaging and condom before using it to make sure there aren’t any holes or anything.
