Is it safe to hide condoms under a mattress?

Hey I’m new to the sex world and recently I bought condoms to protect myself. My parents are very against sex, however I have been with my boyfriend for 2 years and I am preparing myself to practice safe sex. I don’t know anywhere else to hide them except under my mattress and I was wondering if that’s a bad idea? Will they get ruined or is it a safe place? Thanks for all the help ladies!
