Maxwell Paul is here Jan 12,2020

I was induced 38.5 weeks at 6am Jan 12 due to high fluid and large baby. Started Ocytocin at 8am. 10:30 epidural. They broke my water at 11 (over 2 litres!! Crazy). 4:30 started having major labour contractions. Went from 6-10 cm in a matter of minutes. Started to push, his HR went down so they rushed me to emergency C section while still encouraging to push. At 5:03pm they dosed me with freezing for C section at 5:04pm I pushed the little guy out! Was definitely a dramatic entrance :) he weighed in at 8lbs 1oz perfection. He has a cleft palate (no cleft lip just palate) we were transferred to our local children’s medical hospital for observation on his breathing and eating. Little guy is breathing like a champ!

(Due to the high dose of freezing I got for the C section I didn’t end up needing I had to wait it out two hours before I could be transferred by ambulance, craziest feeling not being able to feel anything under my chin for a couple hours) even holding Max for the 2 minutes I could had to be assisted :(

Finally we were together again and got some skin to skin time. Today we learn more about his eating and when when we get to bring him home.
