Does anyone stop breast feeding at a week ppt?

My baby came to me by emergency c sec. which is totally a shock to me since from the start i have always wanted a natural birth. Now juggling with the wound, im also trying to breastfeed. But my baby just cant do a deep latch. My nips have been painful since day 1. I turned to pump and bottle feed. Yet still unbearable throbbing pain on my nips, hard boobs too. I had chills last night. Gastric is active up daily ever since day 3. 
Im depressed. Can anyone share with me if you have similar experience?

I stopped after about a week and a half. I had PPD and I couldn't handle my baby cluster feeding every 30 mins. It was a great decision for us and I don't regret it.

I’ll chime in and say it doesn’t have to be all or nothing. If you still want to breastfeed you can keep working on the latch while also giving some bottles of formula. Yes it’ll make it hard to switch back to exclusively bf later but plenty of women combo feed and as long as you stick to a basic routine of when you nurse vs bottle feed your body will adjust and make the right amount of milk for when you do nurse. A Nipple shield can help but typically shouldn’t be used long term, only until you can figure out the latch. Definitely look into ties as they affect more than just latch. Your mental health is important! Whatever you choose, just make sure you won’t regret it because that’ll eat you up more than anything.

You might ask of baby has a tongue or lip tie. My little guy had a tongue tie and Lord did it hurt. But once we had that cut things went smoother. I also have to use a nipple shield bc I have flat nipples sometimes. Doing those two things has made a world of difference with my experience

My little boy won’t breast feed.  We are both doing everything right but he either latches then falls asleep (🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️) or lets go and stares at me.  
We’ve tried a specialist and we’ve tried just sheer force of will but it always ends the same way - him screaming at me all blue in the face and me crying onto him.
So he’s now formula fed.  I was gutted at first because I so wanted to BF (so much less advance work than formula prep!!! I’d love to just be able to unclip my bra and open the bar!) but I’ve come to terms with it - he’s happy, he’s fed and he’s content (when he isn’t screaming like a velociraptor for one reason or another).  I feel like we’ve finally started bonding and enjoying each other now we aren’t fighting each other constantly! 
You have to do what works for you and your baby.

I also planned to BF and pump. I also had to have an unplanned c section after 22 hours of labor with an epidural that wasn’t working. I tried to breast feed for 3 days and it was absolutely exhausting and miserable. On top of it being so stressful as a first time mom, c section recovery is no f’ing joke and I just couldn’t do it. For my own sanity and to make sure my baby gets what he needs from me, I decided to start formula feeding only. I’m happy and my baby is fed and healthy. Do what you need to do.

I had my baby with planned csection and healing is rough with everything so I know having emergency makes it even worse. I've got depressed a few times but everyday is a little better. On top of it I've been sick since the day of surgery and coughing up a storm. I feel like my stomach is splitting in half. I had planned to BF at first and did good the first day. The second day she was cluster feeding /not getting enough and just so hungry constantly. The nurses at the hospital do not like to give you formula or bottles and strongly encourage BF and I had a bad nurse who would not give us formula. I ended up nursing her for 2.5 hours, then tried to calm her down for an hour because I was in so much pain and she was so hungry and then nursed for another hour before day shift came in and gave her a bottle. It completely ruined BF for me and I havent done it since. I asked for a pump and let my nipples heal for a day and gave her formula and she was happy. My milk came in the next morning and I started pumping, it's still sore, but 1000% less painful than BF was for me. I also got  these landing therapearl 3 in 1 breast therapy things. Please look them up, they are amazing and help so much!

During my last pregnancy, I had engorgement issues (hard boobs) that led to a fever (I’m pretty sure I had mastitis).  I used cabbage leaves (sparingly), cold washcloths, and massaged them in the shower. It eventually eased up. I’m on day 3 and my milk hasn’t completely come in yet .. so I’m trying to be cautious this time. Also, loose fitting bras helped.
