Things to do with a 1 year old?

So its cold out and my 1 year old is running and getting stir crazy! And I'm a SAHM so so am I lol. What are some good places/things you did when your kids were this age?

The pet store to look at the fish, lizards, snakes, mice and birds.  
Home improvement stores like Home Depot to look at the kitchen setups, and the aisle with the ceiling fans and lamps set up. 
I know it sounds weird, but those stores generally don’t mind little ones running around as long as they’re well supervised.  
Also, our library has children’s programs that my kids love.  And our local gymnastics place has drop-in play for toddlers on weekday mornings.

I’m having a hard time what to do is well so far I have library for play day(not quite reading time cuz my boy won’t sit for that lol) and Rec centre for free swim. I wish I had more mom friends bits not easy to get the little one out

Following its freezing where I live and we live in a very rural area😵 the closest mall, target, Walmart, etc are an hour away.. no mommy groups in my area either 😓😓

Might I suggest: Busy Toddler on Instagram. Soooo helpful!!! The sensory bins will be a lifesaver when it rains.

Libraries have storytimes and play groups. Look for museums or indoor playgrounds.

maybe take them to the local sports centre/club or ymca? i remember my mother taking my brother and i to the local fitness club when it got cold since they had a ton of family-friendly indoor activities. we used bay club bc their club west membership benefits and service was way better than other gyms in the area.

We usually go to a soft play area where they can run around and let their energy out when they’re getting a little too crazy, wrap up really warm and go on a short walk even to the shop or park even if it’s just for 5 minutes so they can get some fresh air as  that usually helps my little one 
or we just get really creative indoors and think up some activities to entertain him, one thing we really like to do is bowling/skittles in the hallway, where we set up random objects and give him a ball to roll to try and knock them down, when he’s feeling super crazy he uses himself as the ball and rolls himself into the objects 😂
