What does ilyC mean?

Guy I’m texting, basically my boyfriend, sent that and claimed it was our mutual friend messing with him. I asked Mutual friend and he said that that was what the guy said when embarrassed. Also told me what ilyC means, but I’m not entirely sure if it’s true or if he’s just trying to forge romance.
