I recently broke up with my bf of around 8 months over an incident that I couldn’t get over.

We’d basically returned from a day cruise. It was around midnight, and we were walking along the wharf holding hands.

There was this drunk guy that came walking towards us, and he had a bottle in his hand. Then he started shouting at us, and raised his arm that was holding the bottle.

When my bf saw this, he threw my hand away and ran away, leaving me alone to deal with the drunk guy. I was almost glassed in the face. Fortunately the guy was so drunk that he missed.

I finally came to my senses and ran as well. About 10 minutes later I found my bf. He didn’t apologise for leaving me behind and kept saying how scared he felt. Didn’t ask me once how I felt.

I broke up with him after that. I think I did the right thing though...
