Advice on buying a house in North Carolina

So I'm recently married we are a young couple living in North Carolina I'm a sahm & my husband works & is the only income. We both don't have good or bad credit.. I've seen many young women here or couples buying a house & I'm left wondering maybe they inherited money or they worked and saved up a couple thousands or they got a loan.. but honestly I feel lost or what step to take as to buying a house obviously we would have to ask for a loan but even that confuses me.. right now we only have 2,000 saved up how much do you need for a loan... help a girl out. We're beginners with no one really to guide us. Thank you ladies in advance.
