Is it ok to wear the same colour dress as the bridesmaids at a wedding?

I have a wedding coming up this Saturday and I just asked my friend what colour the bridesmaids are wearing as she’s apart of the wedding and she said the same colour as my dress! 
Now I’m all worried if I should buy another dress or not?

I think it’s ok. You might feel weird though. It’s like going to target and wearing a red t-shirt and khakis. Lol.

Are your dresses similar in any way besides color (length, material etc). I personally wouldn’t be too concerned. No one asked me what colors my bridal party was wearing for my wedding and there was more than one dress in a similar color and it wasn’t an issue.  As long as you aren’t trying to stand up with the bridesmaids and get in the professional photos, your fine 😂

Traditionally, if the bride does not state that you should not wear the same color as the bridesmaids, the only color that is off limits is white.

Ask the bride. I’ve been to weddings where the bride did not want anyone to wear the wedding colors except the wedding party. Couldn’t where black, white or stripes either. Some people are picky

As long as the dress doesn’t look like the bridesmaids’, I think it’s fine. I unintentionally wore the same color as the bridesmaids to a wedding I went to, but their dresses were silk and ankle length, and mine was knee length and a different material, so I didn’t feel weird about it.
