First time using ovulation test

Hi!! So me and my hubs are trying to conceive for the first time. My periods are somewhat irregular so we decided to use an ovulation kit to determine when I ovulate just to be safe.

This morning around 4am I tested and I got a low reading( no smiley face) now I am peeing In a cup and dipping the stick in.

I was doing some reading and I seen a lot of sites say to test In the early evening so I thought I’d give it a try

I got home around 430pm and I went to the bathroom. I couldn’t pee a lot but I got enough In a cup to dip the stick in. I got a flashing smiley face! Could this be true? Or could it be a false positive since it wasn’t a lot of pee and in the evening?

I need some help!
