Nookums pacifier recommendations?

Has anyone used nookums before? How did you like them? How easy was it to remove the pacifier?

Back story: my other son had a wubanub which we loved but once he got teeth he chewed through the pacifier. I bought a replacement animal similar to this that he had but he would just pull the pacifier out of it and we still lost it. Obviously he was a little older when this happened. Around 18 months or so. Just looking to avoid the same mistake but I love the animals!
