I used to be a server and I definitely wouldn’t expect a tip if I knew I was giving bad service. There is nothing more aggravating though than when you go above and beyond for a customer and they don’t tip at all or even just leave a $1 on $50 bill 🙄

“Awful and rude” is so subjective that I’d say you should still tip them, because it could’ve been accidental.
