Pacifier help

Had anyone’s lo taken a paci later? Baby is almost 5 months and I’ve been offering a paci from the beginning but it’s like he can’t hold on to it in his mouth. Every night I have to hold him close or hold it for him while he’s sucks it and as soon as he’s asleep he spits it out. It’s like he can’t hold onto it but he also can’t fall asleep at night without it.

We regularly use MAM but I’m tried tommee tippie, soothies, and bibs.
