my name is madison and i’m 14 but i started my period when i was in third grade. i’m in eighth now and for the past year or so i’d get a breakout or two (only on my period) but for the past 2-3 months my acne has gotten so bad. i’ve never had this bad of acne. i went to my doctor and he gave me clindamycin to put on it and if it worsened or didn’t get better by spring break, he’s putting me on accutane.

the worst part about it is, he said i’d have to go on birth control as well, which i’ve heard can cause you to gain weight. i’ve always been small and i have a fear of gaining weight- so hearing this concerned me.

have any of you tried accutane and if so, would you like to share your experiences? all opinions welcome, i’m just trying to ease my mind a little bit.
