What does back labour feel like in the beginning?

How does it feel to get back labour contractions in the early stages of labour ? How do I know if my back pain is back labour

I had very severe back labor. It first started out as back cramps but soon turned into a pain that I can beat describe as feeling like my spine was going to snap/shatter at any moment. Every back labor contraction I had made my entire body shake uncontrollably. I couldn’t speak, think, concentrate on anything. It felt like the room was spinning until I got an epidural.

It’s like period cramps that are mostly focused in your back. I had it in my first labor and it kind of feels like your back is on fire - putting counter pressure on your back or hips kind of helps during contractions. I was in labor for 24 hours before I got the epidural and when I finally gave birth and was recovering my lower back was covered in black and blue bruises from my husband pressing down on me (it felt good at the time!).
