Woke up this morning about 7 AM after my husband left for work. I was sitting on the couch, but felt the need to pee so I went to the restroom.
Once I went to wipe, I knew I was not gonna make my regular Dr appointment at 11:30 AM cause as soon as I saw that bright red bloody discharge, the contractions hit. And they started off coming 3 to 5 minutes apart from the get go.
Got to the hospital, they checked my cervical dilation and I was at a 4. Checked me an hour later and was at a 6. Contractions were a nightmare. Got the epidural and then I was in a blissful labor. Until they told me that there was meconium in my fluid when they broke my water. They flushed me out and kept a watch on my little girl until it was time to finally push. I'll admit, by this point, I was so tired from throwing up and being so hot from the fever that I barely had enough energy to push.
Once the Dr came in, he said there wasn't enough room for her to get through, so I had to have an episiotomy. From there is was, semi, smooth sailing. Once she was out... she wasn't crying. I don't even know if she was breathing when she came out. They took her immediately to get her cleaned up and checked out. I started to cry, not even aware of my own rough situation.
During the delivery, she ripped my cervix on both sides. I was looking so much blood that my hearing and vision stated to go. I was almost weightless, but all I could think about was whether or not my little girl was going to be okay. I was so relieved when I heard her cry.
I wasn't able to hold her or see her until my Dr had managed to stop the bleeding and get me stitched up, but even once that was finished, I still wasnt able to see her or hold her until I was cleaned up.
Once I was cleaned up, they handed me my beautiful little girl, Winter Rose Rowell, 7lb 8oz - 20.5 inches long born on 1/20/2020 @ 16:05 PM. My greatest gift in this world.
