Crazy to think...

🌹

Most of us were conceiving our babies around this time last year!

*** just to make it clear I’m not talking about a new pregnancy, just reminiscing about the crazy year I had starting with my son’s conception!

My sons conception day was last week. It was funny because I commented to SO that he was conceived a year ago that day. He just laughed a little. We had so much fun ttc 🥰 It was our third cycle ttc and he was actually out of town for work when I got ovulation symptoms a few days early. So I drove 2 1/2 hours to meet him at work after I got done with work (he was 2nd shift). We snuck around and found an empty office during his “lunch” break and had our fun 😂 then shared a meal and I drove 2 1/2 hours back home so I could go to work in the morning.

I was dead exhausted but it paid off! A couple days later I just had a gut feeling I was pregnant. It was such a strong feeling that I even made and saved a pregnancy announcement for my SO and ordered the book “dude you’re gonna be a dad”. I’ve only had that feeling 4 times in my life and was pregnant each time. Overnight from 5-6 dpo I was having horrible sharp cramps. I had to use a heating pad and that was super unusual for me.

6 and 7 dpo I had really light pink spotting and my cervix felt heavy. I was absolutely certain I was pregnant by that point. 7 dpo was also the start of wicked heartburn. 8 dpo I drove past a petrol station and had to pull over to throw up. I used a test strip that night and swore there was a super faint line but no one on here saw it so I was feeling crazy. Then, that night, I got terrible diarrhea so I just assumed I had food poisoning (little did I know my entire pregnancy would be diarrhea and puking). 9 dpo (Sunday) I was craving coleslaw and threw it up almost as fast as I ate it. I planned to wait a few days to test but after that, I caved. I went and bought an frer and got a beautiful pink line 🥰

SO had just left town for work for the week when i tested so I waited until the following Saturday to tell him. It was so difficult 😫. He was so incredibly happy when I told him.

I’m so so happy to have this little man in my life!

What was your ttc journey like the cycle you conceived?
