Tips on getting baby to sleep on crib?

My baby is 3 weeks today and would like to start to introduction him to sleeping on his crib for the first weeks he’s slept either in a bassinet next to me or on my bed when my bf is not here so there will be space for him and I . I haven’t tried to put him in his crib due to cold weather my room gets really cold but I don’t want him getting used to my bed or having to be my side. Or is three weeks still to early?

Never too early. Our son was in his crib since day one (he’s now 2.5) and our daughter we had in her crib by 3 weeks (she was a lot fussier than our son was and is taking a bit longer to get on a schedule so we bought a bassinet for her). She’s 6 weeks old now and she sleeps in there every single night. I personally think the sooner you transition the better. Because once they get too into a routine and get a good understanding of where they sleep it’s harder to break it. We never had sleep issues with our son and were hoping to accomplish the same with our daughter now. If you’re worried about him being cold then just put layers on him. My daughter wears a fleece sleeper and then a fleece halo sleep sack/swaddle overtop. She’s usually just fine and our house is kept at around 70 degrees.

It’s recommended to keep them in your room 6months to a year. My first stayed in our room until 8 months.

My 7 week old is still in the bassinet. With my daughter we room shared until 6 months. We kept her in the bassinet until she could roll then we moved her to her crib in our room.
