ICI / Ovulation tests

Kayla • Sending happy thoughts & baby dust 💕

My wife and I plan start trying with a known donor this year. My goal is to start comparing my ovulation with this app to increase our chances during insemination. What test do you recommend? Also, have any of you done at home ICI? If so, how often did you inseminate during each time? Thanks!!

Me and my fiancé did AI with a known donor. We used the easy@home test strips that we got off amazon for cheap. We tried for 2 years off and on but the month we got our BFP is when we changed some things up. We only inseminated the 2 days before ovulation and got pregnant.

I used strip opks from amazon and verified my peaks with Clearblue digital opks. I tracked about two months to get my calendar synced perfectly with my cycle. The month I actually tried I did the same steps and inseminated my 2 high days and my peak (four consecutive days). Each insemination I used a little preseed (15 minutes before) then inserted the donation which was made into a soft cup. After I elevated my hips for 30 minutes, had an orgasm and went about my night leaving it in over night (no more than 12 hrs). Worked my first cycle trying.

My wife and I are doing ICI at home with a known donor. We are at a year mark of off and on trying and one early MC. I have the early@hoke ovulation strips and they seem to be pretty accurate. This month, we are trying on peak day, o day, and day after to see if we can catch that egg! Lol Baby dust to you and reach out if you have questions! 🥰

I have not done an at home insemination, but you should look into the trigger shot to time ovulation perfectly. I’ve had success with it.

Another mom in our donor family did the femara (May be spelled wrong) trigger shot and had success on the 3rd month of it!

IUI (intrauterine) cannot be done at home with fresh sperm because it has to be washed to bypass the cervix. With a known donor at home it is ICI where you inseminate via the vagina like natural insemination. But I would agree. Testing with ovulation strips was the most accurate for me and the more you test for more months the more accurate this app becomes. Usually inseminating the day you get your positive is the best.

We used a known donor.... and I used the clear blue advanced and bbt charting for ovulation... I was also taking the conception supplement. I ovulate 2 days after the peak readjng.. we insem on the day of peak. Ik this is probably TMI but we made sure juices were flowing before insem and after insem we made sure I had the big O and legs up for 30 min even tho recommended is 15. And I now have a healthy little chunky monkey that is almost 6 months old. We tried a cryobank and after 10k and almost a year we decided to go with fresh from a known donor and it was the 2nd try we got our BFP....If you have any questions please feel free to ask....Good luck and baby dust

Lol, just responded to your other post, hi again. But because we ship from another state and its “chilled” not frozen sperm, we have to be moderate about trying. Found our donor on KDR and get a legal agreement drawn up. This will be our fifth try (issues with shipping each time and do NOT use the website babydust)! We were able to receive a shipment typically twice per month. We inseminated typically two days before ovulation and ideally on the day of ovulation, but sometimes my body misbehaved and ovulation came a day too early so we didn’t get to inseminate the second time. If you have any questions, just let me know! Obviously we haven’t had success yet, but we just worked out the kinks, so hopefully soon!
