Can’t read baby

Anyone else feel like they can’t read their babies at all? I spend all day every day with my 9 week old and I don’t feel like I can recognize any difference in his cries. I wonder if maybe I respond too quickly because I don’t want him to be in distress?? I’m also part of a group on FB that talks a lot about following baby’s sleepy cues during the day to know when to put them down for a nap. You’d think yawning would be a cue that he’s sleepy but then I’ll spend half an hour rocking him with eyes wide open. Maybe he’s overtired and I’ve missed earlier sleep cues? I feel at a loss sometimes.
