Labor only felt an hour long!

On wednesday 1/8 I turned 38 weeks! early in the morning me and my boyfriend decided to have sex to see if it would start up my contractions, which it did! after sex i had an appointment for my sons daycare, then since i was having small contractions i decided to walk. I headed to the mall and walked around for about 2 hours then i headed home to pick up my son from daycare, right after picking him up i decided to go walk even more and went to target to keep walking, i walked for another 2 hours then i went to yet again another appointment for my sons daycare. My contractions were not painful but just a little uncomfortable they were about 7-10 minutes apart. after coming home and giving my son his bath we went over to my aunts house and stayed there for the rest of the afternoon, my contractions were still not painful. at around 11 pm when we got home i started getting them every 5 minutes for about an hour and then they stopped and became further apart i was not surprised that they were going away since this always happened. (the contractions that i would get after sex were never real ones but just braxton hicks) at around midnight i was still having contractions but 10 to 15 min apart so i decided to sleep it off and see if i was still having them in the morning so i could go in to L&D. i fell asleep at 1am and woke up to a contraction at 4:30 am i layed in bed and tried to sleep again but i couldn’t! the contractions kept coming, i decided to get up and walk around my room for a little bit and then i felt the urge to use the restroom so i went and nothing of course just pee 🤦🏻‍♀️ I decided to just keep walking around my living room and time my contractions at about 5 am i was having contractions every 5 minutes so i finally decided it was time to head to the hospital i called my boyfriend to pick me up. i let my mom know i was going to go to the hospital and told her to take my son to daycare then meet us there (my son goes in at 7:30 am for daycare) after telling my mom i was going to the hospital my dumbass thought it would be a good idea to take a shower so i did, we live about 35 min away from the hospital. at 6 am my boyfriend and I started heading to the hospital finally 🤦🏻‍♀️😂 my contractions were still at 5 min apart and then halfway to the hospital they started being 3 min apart and they got PAINFUL when we were about 10 min away from the hospital i felt the urge to push but i held it in, it was raining by the way and this was my boyfriends first laboring experience so he was NERVOUS & stressed 😂 when we got to the hospital exit he missed it 🤦🏻‍♀️ after finally getting to the hospital at around 6:40 i told him to get me a wheelchair i couldn’t walk anymore the pain was unbearable! we got on the elevator and i knew i had to push so i told him “I need to push” and the nurse in the elevator looked at me and said “please don’t push in this elevator” 🙄 as if i wanted my daughter to be born in the elevator, she saw the pain i was in so she asked if we needed help getting to L&D and i said yes and all i remember was her running thorough the hospital pushing me in the wheelchair while my boyfriend was chasing behind us 😂 when we finally got to L&D the nurse pushing me said “she says she feels like she needs to push” i looked at the first L&D nurse i saw and i told her “i feel like i need to push” she took my wheelchair and pushed me to the admitting station expecting me to talk to them while in this pain and i screamed “IM GONNA PUSH” and all i heard her say was “okay okay” and about 10 nurses came out and saw the chaos and all screamed room 10 and to room 10 we went! after getting in the room i couldn’t move from the pain and one of the nurses told me to get on the bed and i told her i couldn’t and she then screamed at me “HONEY WE NEED YOU ON THAT BED GET UP” and i have no clue where the strength came from but i got on that bed and immediately had like 5 nurses trying to undress me while the other ones tried calling more OBs. the one OB that was in the room told me she was going to check me and after that she let everyone know “she’s ready to push” and asked me if my water had broken yet i said “no but i need to push” so i pushed and surprise! my water exploded all up on that OBs arm 😂 after i saw that i pushed and i pushed HARD the nurses came to grab my legs and help and i finally heard the doctor say “look down” i looked and there she was my beautiful little girl 😍 01/09/2020 at 6:52 am ❤️ 7lbs 2oz ! I had one sock on my shirt and my bra, oh and my right arm was still in my sweater 😂 didn’t even have a gown and didn’t even get an IV! it was all so fast that all the nurses were joking that i could just go home😂 i’m so grateful everything turned out great and i didn’t have my baby in the elevator or even worse the car!
