Quick twin delivery!

At 34 weeks I went into preterm labor and dilated to 4cm 90% effaced and then my twin girls decided they changed their mind 🤣. I was given steroids and hospitalized for 5 days. I begged to go home so they let me go only because I was 3.5 miles from the hospital. They told me to come back if anything feels off or with any contractions because if my water broke I’d be in trouble.

We were then scheduled for induction at 36 weeks. So Thanksgiving night we went in at midnight to be induced.

Turns out baby B had flipped breech and so in order to have a vaginal delivery they wanted to wait until 5am to start pitocin. I was already contracting every five minutes so I went ahead and got the epidural that way I wouldn’t have to call the nurses to Pee every 30 minutes. I got some great sleep that night and at 5 AM we started Pitocin. They checked me at 10 AM and I was 4 cm 90% effaced still. my epidural had stopped working at this time so we were working on getting it back on track. They checked me again at 2:30 pm and I was 5 cm and 90% effaced so they went ahead and broke my water. I was in a lot of pain since my epidural wasn’t working and I was feeling a lot of pressure like my tailbone was breaking. The nurse asked did I want to be checked. I told her I was a first time mom and didn’t think I was that dilated. Boy! Was I wrong! I was 7 cm so I asked for a peanut ball just to get it over with. A minute later after she walked out of the room I had my husband push the call button because I started throwing up and something was wrong. Turns out baby A was crowning. They started ripping stuff out of the walls and transporting me to the OR so I could push. It was crazy hectic considering they didn’t really have anything ready. Five pushers later Eloise was born in six minutes later Charlotte was born.

We went home to days later no nicu time! It was a crazy fast delivery but absolutely easy. I was up and walking an hour later with no tears. Twin mamas don’t fear you can do this!
